Erie Morning

Did my early morning pilgramage to Ft Logan about 0440 this morning....I hate ceremony and crowds. Parked and gazed for a few minutes at a sea of white crosses...it got a little lighter and I became aware of another person about 200' to my right...doing exactly the same thing.I was kinda lost in my own thoughts and memories.
We both turned and faced each other....both of us popped a salute and ...without a word went to respected cars and left...not a word, just silent communication. His was about 100yds away is why I didn't see it.
This didn't really hit me as erie till about noon. Remember the fallen this weekend....they had lives and dreams just like the living do.
Dan

I hear ya Dan. Right now there are 20,000 American flags on the Boston Gardens representing a lot of young men and women who gave their lives. And yes there are few I know there. I guess I was lucky.
