I have a new job sence I was on last as a fulltime EMT/FF with one of the local fire dept. I work 4 days on 4 days off 12 hours shifts. I have been with them for a little over a year now. I hope this year things will be calm enough to get in some hunting, I have done very little the past 2 years and it will feel good to get back out on the marsh and in the woods. My little girl is hounding me to go more this year so... must do as the boss says

The site looks great, I really like the changes. Hope to get some good topics started, reconnect with some old friends and meets some new ones!!

Del,

It is great to hear from you, even though some of the news is bad. However, it seems you have a bunch of good news too. You have custody of your daughter and when we went shooting several years ago, which might be the last time I went clays shooting, you were working off and on doing wood flooring. So, now you have a steady job and last I checked EMTs make decent money too. I'm always looking for the silver lining in the cloud.

Like you, I have done very little hunting and shooting over the past two or three years since my daughter was born. I went dove hunting on September 1, 2009 and then got terribly sick with what my wife and I think was Lyme disease, but the doctors never were able to figure out what it was and all the Lyme tests came back negative. They finally treated me for Lyme at the end of September and around mid October I was able to move again and actually do a little work. Well 2 months behind on work and am just now starting to get caught up. On top of that, that day dove hunting sucked. I saw all of 4 birds and all of them were too far to shoot at. Even my dog was whining toward the end of the day, and I had to limp all the way back to the truck. I still have slight flare ups with pain in my feet, but the arthritis is nowhere near as bad as it was back in last September (i.e., in every joint of my body).

Anyway, let me know if you want to shoot again at Pintail Point and I will make the drive down. My sister and brother in-law live in Annapolis and they like shooting there too.

My dad is so retired that he jumps at the chance to go hunting, shooting, or fishing. Sad thing is, I am about the only one that takes him. My sister and brother in-law take him fishing once in a while, but over the past decade, it has mostly been me. If you guys want to get together again and do some shooting at Pintail Point, I'll find time in my schedule. Granted, Skeet might beat me by a lot more than 3 birds this time since I am rusty, but it will still be a fun time.

Hey guys sounds great!!! I am so looking forward to getting together and shoot. You guys may have to show me which end to hold it has been so long. The last time we shot clays was the last time I shot clays. And yeah some of the news has been bad but I know God has so much better planned for me, so I have been so excited about this new chapter in my life and I feel more and more like my old self.

Welcome back DelDuck. You are one very lucky guy. Had the same thing happen to me 22 years ago. Thought it was the worst thing.... nope .... it was the best. Replaced a bad woman with a great one and would never have had the chance otherwise. Believe me, they are out there, you just need to take your experiance and turn it into good things for you and your daughter. You have a lot more experiance than you did at the beginning of the last go round, so use that experiance while you shop. There is no shortage of women who want, but there is a bad shortage of good hetrosexal men, with a good paying stedy job, a home and maturity. You are a real prize, whether you know it or not.
All the Best,
Ed

Thanks so much guys!! I truly do appreciate those kind words. It is really funny how I can now step back and see more clearly, and know that twords the end of our marriage it was not really the true me anymore, just a beaten down husk. I really do not regret the past 10 or so years because I have a beautiful little girl, who is daddy's little girl and want to hunt and shoot her bow and .22, ride our horses.......shew dad needs to find a super energy supply to keep up with her LOL. You guys have a great night, I have about 30 more min. left on my shift and then it is off for 4 days. I have to run home feed the horses and dogs, change cloths and then off to the fire house for a church family night and pick my little girl up.
