Found Federal Lightnings again

Was at the local wally world Sunday and decided to check on 22s. Low and behold they had 50 round boxes of the old plain jane 40 grain lead round nose federal lightnings for $1.77 a box. I remeber paying 38cents a box for them when I was a kid. Oh well. I bought two boxes just because I could.

GoodOlBoy, you are still a youngster if they had Fed. Lightnings then. When I was a kid LR were .25, L .20 and shorts were .15

GOB, if you ever come into Big D, and I certainly understand if you dont, the wally worlds on hwy-80 and I-30 at Belt Line still have the 510b (lightnings) for $1.47. If they're out there are 4 more within 5 miles. We are eat up with wally world on the east side of town.

Yeah I try not to hit up there except on business trips. Same goes for Austin, and Houston these days. About as big as I like to get (and that's even a little too big for my tastes) is college station. But thanks for the heads up anyway.

I had a bad experience with Federal's promo .22s and won't use them any more. I have, however, had excellent results lately with CCI's Blazers in the bulk pack. I have yet to have a misfire, the seem to be clean, and the accuracy has been great in every .22 in which I have tried them. I like them so much that I have resighted my guns for them.

Dang the same thing happened with Remmington Promo Hollowpoints. Last week I had about 10 or 15 misfires from reliable weapons. I have CCI and all of them went off however the Remmie's were disappointing.

My standard go to 22 is Winchester Power Points. Not sure if they are available anymore.
