Tactical Blah Blah

Some people will buy anything. Put the word 'tactical' to the front and they go ga-ga over it.

Mossberg is marketing a (here is that stupid word again) "Tactical .22" looks like an AR....WHY?

And some air rifles are marketed as ....that word...........why?

Yeah sniper teams may employ a .22 for security dogs, but all I have ever read was that a silenced bolt action was used.

Why would anyone want a pretend AR, that only chambers .22LR? I would be embarrassed personally to show up with one at a range. I'd never waste my money on that.

Well they are all wanna be snipwers or what ever they want to be. After having to do that tactical thingie for a little bit most would quit in a hurry. Tactical work is hard and nasty..dangerous too. All this homeland security BS is starting to really scare me too. Our freedoms have flown the coop for certain. Feeliin people up is ridiculous. Lets just check people who look the wrong way. Mad bombers sure aren't blond haired blue eyed 18 yr old girls...or boys for that much. Callin in the swat team is a fun thing now days. They call in a whole bunch of people with machine guns for a guy holding his wife hostage with a knife for gods sake. One well placed bullet In my opinion... they have seized too much control over the American people in the name of safety. Tactical BS is my name for it. Tactical stuff is sold cause people think if they have it they are the protector of the people or their families or for some just a power trip.. The last is probably the biggest reason

Yeah, I totally see what your saying skeet.

I notice they go after the blue eyed teen girl, so they won't get harassment charges for checking Achmeds bomb....er....a.....bag, he has a bag......yeah.

But I bet he doesn't have a 'Tactical .22LR'

jon lynn, are you saying that those of us that are shooting 22 rf versions of the AR15 are doing it because we don't have the real thing, as you refered to them as retend AR 15s"? Well I and all the ones I know that are shooting the Colt version or the S&W MP1522RF have at least one or more "real ARs" some in multiple calibers. I'll admitt I just have one a Bushmaster in 5.56, but also shoot a S&W M&P 1522 and really enjoy it. The accuracy was really amazing to me, maybe the ultimate plinker. My grandsons love shooting it and I like the feature of not having to reload and the rf ammo is alot cheaper. Just put a red dot up on mine but haven't had a chance to sight it in, should make a great bunny rifle. No where on mine is the word tactical, just another black gun with the same set up and controls as my AR 15. Hopefully I misunderstood what you meant.

Marketing Hype. Same with the terms 'turbo' and 'extreme'. Stamp a catchy buzzword onto the product, never mind the product is out of context to the true meaning of that term. If it helps sales, that's all that matters! Remember, nearly all companies now are run by the bean counters, not the enthusiasts that began the company.
Been done for ages - look at those Colt "Government Models" and "Commanders" sold over the decades, that are not as issued by the military.
Marlin's "Guide Gun", mostly owned by armchair hunters who go onto a managed hunting lease for a couple weeks a year.

In short, the 'bottom line' drives it.

popplecop, you took wrong point I was trying to make.
I'm just agents the people who buy it because it has the word tactical staples to the receipt, and a few other things.

But seawolf, a question. Doesn't Government Model mean it is a copy or clone of the ordinal version? I got my Rock Island .45 because it said it was a Government model, so I thought "I used that design in the Army" and got it due to familiarity........but it didn't say tactical

Forget "Tactical" and replace with "Ugly Black Thing". That's what my wife calls my AR.

jon lynn,

My 19-year-old blue-eyed, blond "FOX" sweetheart gave me three pairs of TACTICAL Camo under pants for Christmas. She advised me "Tonight We get TACTICAL". No firearms are involved. Should I return the Tactical Shorts? LOL!

Happy New Year, my friend.

Adam

Beauty as they say..is in the eye of the beholder. I be holding mine(AR) pretty tight. I knows a guy who married a gal who, as I wasn't beholding her, was really kinda...welll...she was onea the Lee sisters. Don't know which one mighta been beast or ghast or home or ug. Doesn't matter. She had a disposition to go along with her looks..or so I thunk. After 20 yrs he's still married to her. He also had bad tastes in guns. I fixed that mostly. Never tried to fix his taste in wimmin. He tole me that she sure can cook

Nope..no boat but she did inherit a farm..He had a tractor or two. bought 'em just in case. Actually she was a really nice girl. Just not the most pleasing to the eye. First time I met her I thought I was gonna go blind. heck I had an ol guy offer me a beautiful farm if I would marry his grand daughter. She was a looker too. BUT..she was certifiable crazy. I on the other hand was not. I was a bit of a wild one...but I was NOT crazy. The ol fellow did understand. Really liked him..and I was tempted...for about a half hour. She ended up killing herself at the age of 30. That woulda been a long 10 yrs I'll bet
