Summer Riflery....
Now that Winter is gone for another year, I set about getting rifles on board for 100, 200, 300 and 400 yard ranging while I shoot over my RCBS Chronograph.
Today my son-in-law came by and shot my "Tora Bora" .25-06 in Sniper Stock with 4X-12X Scope at the 100 yard chuck target with my best 87 grain handloads. (The outfit weighs 15 pounds with bipod) He hit 5X5 on a very small woodchuck swinging target. I was happy for Wade and he was thrilled. He dropped off his .300 Weatherby Magnum Remington 700 BDL for range development. Since we have a 400-yard range in the hayfield, I will work up loads for the Weatherby. I picked up a set of RCBS dies and have powder and cases for load development. I must plant two BIG gardens before I bust caps at 400 yards. I have a very nice Mauser-action Mark X .243 and a .264 Winchester Magnum that need long range testing. I suppose it will be a busy Summer, now that the rains have quit. Old dog and I use a Polaris Ranger to go check and paste up targets in the big hayfield. This is why I retired at age 51. Adam
