Well I did it again...
Went to an auction yesterday..oy Vey..it was a reloading auction. Just have to tell ya..I have a LOT of stuff...I mean a LOT..but the guy that died was the winner..he went out with more stuff. Made me look bad. I really didn't need anything but had to go.. Spent waaayyy too much money. But the people there were really cheap..even if I have to come to my own defense. Didn't buy any guns this time..but they only had 3 or 4. One of the neatest items I got was a Rock Chuck Bullet Swage press..early one(late 40s what RCBS was named after) in exc condition and I only paid 10 dollars....and to top that off I even got a set of the dies to go with it to make .224 bullets..also 10 bucks. These guys were so cheap at this auction I bought multiples of stuff. 2 Star Presses with an extra die head..2 Star sizing presses with approx 20 sizing dies..And the old timers here will remember the Cramer Co. even got one of their sizers/lubers and a SAECO sizer luber...both for 25 dollars. Got 2 of the RCBS lead furnaces as well as a SAECO lead pot with dippers and a bunch of ingot moulds..all for the grand sum of...well lets just say they were makin me buy them. Got 'nuff gas checks for 50 yrs and bullet moulds...39 bullet moulds total. 17 were Hensley and Gibbs 7 were Hoch nose pour moulds and the rest were RCBS Lyman and a couple other brands. I did good though as I bought no powder primers or bullets(well not many). I did get enough new 221 Fireball and 222 Rem Mag brass for the rest of..well lets say..more than any sane person would ever need. I got enough 222 RM brass to actually wear out a bbl just loading each once. Now to dispose of some of this stuff so I can afford to keep some for myself. LOL

Widows and orphans
Actually there were no widows and orphans. The fellow that died donated all the proceeds from everything he owned to the NRA...which was a very neat thing to do.. They even sold his house and it went to the NRA...I actually bid on it..but not 'nuff of course. If I hadn't held myself in check I would have spent twice what I did. I bought the good stuff though. I found 2 more bullet moulds in a box I got...Both were LBT moulds and they were custom ones..made just for the fellow who died. One is a really neat 41 Mag mould with a 275 gr flat nose bullet.. I haveta load that one for my b'ar gun.. I'll be happy to get 1000 ft per second..but it should be a good'un. As I said..I went to the auction for the Star items but the one I really wanted was a P-W Metallic II press and I got it for a very good price..40% of new and it is essentially new with a powder measure no less.. I even got the bench it was mounted on.

Yeh, yeah, yeah, no Widows, no Orphans, only the NRA and ya bought cheap .... did you say three hail Merrys and two our fathers as pennence? I am not Catholic so have no idea what I am asking, it just sounds like a good line from the Quiet Man .....
![]() You will enjoy the PW M-II I have one and use it for my competition cast bullet loading involving buffered loads. A powder measure with a Little Dandy loaded with spherical buffer behind that. They work real well. Did you get both primer piston attachments (S & L)? Sounds like you needed to buy that house for storage. Ed

Well I'm not Catholic either but I do know the difference between a Hail Mary and some Hail Merries...LOL!!I knew a couple of very hale and merry merries. On the block in Balti...oops..never mind..Did i ever tell ya I met Blaze Starr a couple of times..and even as a young guy..my eyes almost popped out and my tongue fell outta my mouth. Yeah Ed..got both of the primer posts. Those things are expensive from P-W..like 50 bucks each. The powder measure was a little Pacific with a push pull slide..has bushings in it..and I got a whole box of bushings so I think I am good to go on them..Has the powder measure extension thingie too. This guy took care of his stuff. I got 8 Hoch Nose Pour moulds..found one in a box without handles..And Holy Toledo..those things are expensive..Most I'll never use..Even got some special order 24 caliber ones... The Star Luber/sizers both had Midway heaters with them for that hard lube..so that makes me happy..Plus I got 22 extra Star Sizing dies and punches.. and got 10 sizing dies for the SAECO/Redding Sizer.. all the electric furnaces work..even the old SAECO pot. Don't know if y'all use .224 bullets but there were 2 boxes of Remington 52 gr PLHPs there... had 5000 bullets in each..they sold for 47.50 each..and i didn't buy them DUH. I coulda loaded all those 222 Rem Mag cases with 'em

Well today was another day..and it happened again. I took a fellow to the gun club to give him a shooting lesson.. He actually did ok once he got the idea of how to hit 'em.. For a guy that never shot before ..well never mind that. I looked at the bulletin board in the club and a guy had a couple of guns for sale..a matched pair of 1100s a 28 ga and a 410 Both skeet guns.. So I called him. Haven't had a set in years and thought I'd like to acquire a set. They are becoming a bit rarer every year. So went and looked. The guns were in the original case(foam replaced)..had the weights for the magazine tubes and were in about 97%. He wanted a bit too much for them but he did accept my reasonable offer....and gave me 15 boxes of 28 and 410 shotgun shells to boot. I think he was about as happy to sell 'em as i was to get them.. Remington made approx 5000 sets in 1969 and 1970. But even though they made a lot of them..many sets were broken up and also a lot had the crap shot out of 'em. Remington at the same time made a matched pair of 28 and 410 in the 870. They only made 1115 sets of them..I also have a set of 'em. The guns are collectibles now days and I'm happy to have 'em. I also found a Firestar 9mm semi auto with 500 rounds of ammo for 400 bucks. Gun has had less than a box shot in it. Don't know about the gun but may have to buy it too. Already sold some of the stuff I got Saturday..but I spent that and more today..Duh!!
