Saw an M1 Garand yesterday
It was in a gun shop that specializes in pistol smithing. Handguns get the most attention. At one end of the shop are an assortment of rifles and shotguns. It was a Springfield in the three million serial number range. The stock and handguards did not match and the stacking swivel was missing. The bore looked to be excellent. The hang tag price was $995.00 and they will probably get it. It would be fine for someone looking for a decent M1 Garand. All the best...

Sounds about right
I have seen M1 Garands on used gun racks for much higher prices. Take care...

Gil,
I suggest you try CMP for Original Garands for about the same price. Adam

Actually the CMP would cost more
The CMP link below shows a correct grade M1 Garand for $1,100.00 plus shipping and that matches the rifle I saw in the local gun shop for $995.00. All the best...

Gil,
Many thanks for the evaluation upgrade. I just bought a Garand for $500 that rings my 400-yard gong with Ball up 6 clicks from the Ball 100 yard zero. I reckon I can double or triple my money. I will keep buying Garands well under the thousand dollar Threshold. Adam
