Well, it's finally done....
....and it FLOATS!!!! Even with my fat arse in it!
Actually I finished it a few weeks back and took it on a small pond near my home. I used the trolling motor back then, and it moved it well, but I have since bought a small, 1.5 hp outboard to push it around. Plan on using it on small lakes, ponds, and the marsh. It's built from the dense foam insulation panels (4x8'), wood, and fiberglass. Prior to glassing: adding the fiberglass: The finished product: If anyone is interested, they can find more info here: www.diyduckboat.com Also cross posting this in the "build it yourself" forum

It's not as tippy as you might think....I wouldn't want to stand upright in it, but I feel it is more stable than a canoe of similar size (and, of course, less stable than my rowboat).

I look at that and think "Would I go seaduck hunting in it". Yes, close to shore. Actually you would never catch me in the ocean in the winter, in anything short of a Navy Destroyer. Looks like it will do the trick. Good Luck.
