NoDak 10/15-22 - looking for one more person

NoDak 10/15-22 - looking for one more person
________________________________________
Our NoDak group is looking to add one more person (and a dog or two). Heading out Saturday 10/15 and heading back 10/22. Staying in a lodge.

This will be 80% upland and 20% waterfowl. So far, 5 guys and 4 dogs. Cost is going to be around $800-$1000.

PM me if you may be interested...

FIJI, If you have a contact at your destination, give them a call. Everything I am seeing on ND pheasants says it will not be good. A local contact can tell you if they an area lined up that has birds. Waterfowl should be great.

yeah, we heard that

but even with ND numbers down it'll still be better than MI for phez !

this was planned as an upland hunt but with the loss of a couple of dogs we now need to spend more time on ducks, doves and cranes to give the dogs a break

just got home

23 hr non stop drive on return, ouch

Overall hunting was a disappointment. Few phez that mostly flushed wild.
Once spot we had 6 roosters cross the road in front of us - of course it was private on both sides

found some small pockets of sharpies

Ducks were around but jump shooting them was not easy. We did manage to toss some dekes out on one pond for awhile for some fun

saw lots of cranes a mile high as they passed.

learned a lot - if only what not to do next time

Fiji, In ND if you have the permission to hunt the land you may shoot pheasants in the road ditches adjacent to the land under permission. Check the ND regs. It suprised the heck out of me.

me too

we didnt have any pvt land permission but there is a ton of PLOTS land around.

We were also informed that it is legal to hunt anything that is not posted too. Of course, the six rooster spot was posted on both sides!

Here in SD you can hunt the ditches and retrieve from private property without permission, but must be unarmed. Applies to small game, not sure about waterfowl. In any case, hope you had a good time.
