Elk Licenses Down?

We hunt the private landowners cows only season in Unit 211 every year in November. The rancher where we hunt said the number of tags available this year were way down from years past. There are always left over licenses available right up to the close of the season. Not this year! They were all gone! He didn't remember that ever happening.

The December late cow season issued only about 50 tags compared to a few hundred other years.

My question is: Is the overall elk herd down that bad in CO, or is it just this Unit?

I know Idaho has many tags left over and thousands of elk gone due to vermin wolves. They are now beginning to kill the wolves. Can't do it fast enough!

Wolves are a major issue in MN too. They have taken a toll on the deer herd in certain parts of the state, but the real problem is they are almost not afraid of humans. They are coming into people's yards and killing their pets, livestock, etc.

They have been trying to de-list them, but the ARs keep filing lawsuits that delay the de-listing.

Wolves are vermin and they need exterminating. No joke, people that think wolves can co-exist with wildlife, livestock, pets and humans have no idea about wolves. Everything they spew from their vile mouth is read on pro wolf pages or biologists that have an agenda...job security. Millions get poured into greenie sites from emotional goobers with no sense of the outdoors. Don't let any of these money grabbers fool you, our ancestors removed the wolf for good reason. If you love elk, deer, sheep, moose and all things wild, push to have these apex killers removed. Screw regulated packs. They tried that on rats in New York. How's that working out? Cheers fella's and good hunting, gg

Couldn't agree more, grayghost, and these animal right idiots are as bad as the vermin they protect. To them, animals are of a higher value than humans!

True that Trapper7. Idaho increased wolf tags for this year, so hunting and trapping is open. Just be sure to wear rubber gloves if you get one. They are carrying some bad parasites and diseases. I understand over 60% of those tested where infected.
