Gun Shows Auctions and yard sales
Did a gun show last week and finaly getting all the stuff put into place. Sold well and bought a bunch. Other than reloading items I bought handguns. I got a really nice S&W 745 two tone 45 auto with 4 extra mags which were new It is blued slide stainless frame and is heavy..but looks like a well made gun. Got it cheap too at 400 bucks. Bought another new in box Kimber 45 auto..for 650 bucks. Nice pistols but a bit expensive.. also got a Ruger Security Six 4 inch blued gun that is a really good shooter..and only paid 275 cucks..Mainly for mommas truck.so she will have a firearm with her when she comes home alone. And for a really good price I got a pre war FN model 1922. In about 85% or so..just to have a hideaway in the house. It is a 9mm Short/380. Paid about 200 bucks and it also shoots good. A little gun for my hand but fits mommas well. At the auction yesterday I got a niceDunbar Glass works H press. The heavy model. Got it cheap and it was the only reloading shooting item they had other than a box of boxes for handguns. Older Smith Ruger and a Virginia Dragoon box with papers. Also some boxes for Buck presentation knives. They will sell on ebay. and before the auction yeaterday I got 3000 20 ga Rem RXP wads and a half a bag of shot for 10 bucks. Guns at yard sales are coming in short supply here.. Nobama is still scaring them a bit. BTW I took 30,000 primers to the gun show of all different flavors and sold them all in short order..People are also becoming a bit worried about ammo and primers becoming scarce

skeet,
You did very well. Do you have a barn to store all your stuff? I have a barn and a few out buildings that are mostly empty. Adam

Adam I just have the vault in the basement which is 12 x33 ft and the garage.. BUT I am getting enough room to park the cars and trucks in there...so don't need to store more stuff in there. Somer of the stuff i get I sell to pay for other endeavors. I paid for our Alaska cruise selling stuff and I also pay for some of my shooting expenses. Some items I keep of course..and some get traded. I bought a 1958 Ruger 357 Flattop at an auction and paid what i considered alot for it at just shy of 500 dollars. I helped my legally blind friend at a gun show and as usual he got me a table. I usually take some eye candy to attract people. I used it..and put a price of double what i paid..and the first person that asked if they could look at(a lady by the way) asked if I would take 950 and I told her..no not really!! She ponied up the grand and I had no choice but to sell it..Like a dummy I guess i didn't put 'nuff on it??!!. BUT I do have one I have shot extensively and I guess I bought the other because it was 98-99% condition..and I really wouldn't have shot it anyway. But I did learn a valuable lesson..if ya don't want to sell it..don't put a price on it. Now as to a barn.. I do have a barn on the place we still own in Maryland. It is a nice little farm(200 acres) that does make me money. but when(if) the economy ever improves I am going to sell it. I have a locked vault in it and it is full of reloading stuff. I have 6 tons of lead ingots in it..and maybe a ton of sheet lead too. When i come back east in Sept I am going to get a ton loaded up to bring here. You my friend need to start filling those barns with shootin stuff...BTW those old Rugers are like the old Harley's.. If you shoot 'em or ride 'em you have to keep tightening all screws etc. No nylock on the old stuff

As for me the only guns I seem to be buying are the unpopular in the area or buying from gun shows ..some items are selling poorly because they are junk or priced too high. You did really good on the Featherweight though.. It may be time to start getting the things you are SURE you will NEED..not want in the shooting supplies area anyway

Everything is drying up here. Heck it is getting hard to find 20 gauge shells now. Only thing readily available is 12 gauge.
