S&W Model 442

I was in Miami most of last week, and while browsing a local dealer's stock, I found this NIB little belly gun.
It has a lock, and according to the shop guy, no one wants the lock. Everyone wants the model without it. I would prefer no lock myself, on principle if nothing else.
HOWEVER, he was willing to knock $80 off the price of this one to move it, so I brought it home.
Model 442, light weight, hammerless (DAO) and +P rated. I love it.

8X56MS,

Very nice gun; I would carry it.

you will find it goes in the drawer right next to your chapstick, wallet and keys. mine goes everywhere in an uncle mikes pocket holster, draws fast and is absolutely unnoticeable! the lock thing is crazy. according to massad ayoob the reason nobody wants the lock is that in the same sized 357 cal there are documented cases of the recoil locking the gun. i have had mine in .38 for 4 years when the lock first started being seen and no issues and that gun is more accurate than it should be for that little barrel. currently mine is full of hydra shoks just because they were avail when i bought the gun and they shoot dead on. as soon as i can range some gold dot short barrel loads i will hopefully be switching to the bonded bullet. i also love that i can walk in a parking lot with my hand casually in my pocket but right on point
one thing to notice, from a pocket draw it works better if you draw with your thumb on the guns backstrap, just comes out of pocket easier. nice purchase!
