I FINALLY used my RCBS Chrony today!
For Christmas 2010, the Frau gave me an RCBS Chronograph. It sat in its box in the den until today. I fired .45 ACP reloads and .38 Special and .357 reloads over the skyscreens and was happy with the real data. I have a small bound ledger book for chrony info.
I read the instructions twice last evening and put the gizmo together today. I learned that when all else fails, FOLLOW the Instructions! For about $130, Graf & Sons sent me the chrony and I regret I waited so long to enjoy an important piece of reloading equipment. My accuracy loads with various powders were confirmed to be in a certain velocity range. Adam

Chronographs are a great tool. And sometimes vexing!
![]() You may find some surprises as you try all your loads- some slower than you expected, some not.

Jack,
I have found out a lot of interesting things with the chrony. My most accurate .38 Special load only clocks about 700 fps. For punching paper, who cares? My .45 ACP 200 grain SWC loads are a solid 870 FPS. My .357 loads were where the Lyman book said they should be. Adam
