S&W M-19 parts order
I just ordered 4 parts for a M-19-3 from Gun Parts off the internet and their schematic with their parts numbers.
What I received was standard K frame parts like for a M-10 or a 15. Three of the 4 parts were wrong. I am trying to get in contact with them to find out, if in fact they have the right 19 parts or if I return the parts and re-order will I just get the same wrong generic K frame parts again. This is just a heads up about G-P and their generic bin parts deal, careful is the word. Right now I am down to finding one part, the correct center pin for a 19, which has the collar set back from the rounded end, about .200 further than a 38spl K frame center pin, to make up for length difference of the 357 cylinder. If no luck there, order the parts from Brownells. We use them befor all others if they have the part needed.

I had to order some new screwdriver bits today so ordered a center pin from Brownell's It says in the data that the 66/19 takes this pin as does the 10 and 15 so we shall see. I suspect it will be as the G-P center pin, too short as they are not the same pins. But at half price to G-P I thought I would give it a try.
Ed PS: This morning, the 21st, I got an email from G-P saying they shipped my pin. We will see which one, if any is the right one.

Yesterday the 24th I received both center pins one in the morning and one in the afternoon, one from G-P and one from Brownells, now these are the 4th pins I have received. The pin from Brownells was a K frame pin and not a pin for a M-19. The G-P pin was marked as being for a K-38 Outdoorsman and M & P with a different number but it was the correct center pin for the M-19.
To be fair, I returned the G-P part to start with and wrote a detailed description of what I wanted so obviously the folks at G-P went and found it. Now this old pinned barrel, recessed chamber M-19, 4 inch with about 95-97% bright blue finish functions as new and has gone to join its brothers in the safe. As I was working on this gun I discovered that the blued M-19 and the stainless 66 have taken another $100 jump in value. Ed
