Good luck wrenchman and looking forward to some pics. For bow season is crossbow also an option from now on or was it only a test period. I was back a couple 3 years ago and used a crossbow - lights out

Years ago in Michigan you bought a deer license and you could also shoot a bear, but it was only for the firearms deer season 15 Nov.

Have not been able to kill a bear on a deer tag for about 30 years and yes they now allow cross bows i have yet to get one but I am all for it.
I still use the darten vipor to bow hunt but its geting hard and don't do it near as much becouse like lots of mechanics the joints don't work to good as I get older and pain meds can only do so much.

Time flies, whoa, 30 years already gone for getting a bear on a deer tag - I'm getting old

I have an Excalibur, I like the simplicity of it without the wheels etc, and it is a solidbuilt crossbow. Also have a Reflex compound bow that is a lot of fun to shoot.

Oh yes I hunt grouse every time I'm back, in fact I miss the October days of Pat hunting something terrible!

Europe is funny, no bows in Germany but can be used in Denmark, Hungary, and I'm sure a couple other countries. I ordered it and had it delivered to Michigan, put it together, shot a few practice shots and all was in order. Then took exactly one shot with it on a game animal

I did a bit of research when I bought mine, narrowed down to either Ten Point or Excalibur. For the little I have used mine, no complaints. One big selling point to me was I can unload/decock it without shooting it. Here's a couple pics to get you pumped up a little bit for the opener!

Steaks were great!
