Ranks of the Unemployed

Officially retired last nite.Got a plaque, good size BP gift card and a satin finish old Colt Commander 45. Let's see if I can last 30 days before finding something else to keep busy!

Way to go Dan,

I retired 2 times already and one lasted 3 month and the other not much more than that. I am currently working and liking it even if its a bunch of lilberals which is fun. I will give it up for real next September but will do something part time that is fun. I'm hoping we still have social security and medicae next year.

Dan,
Best to you, guy. I hope your retirement lasts as long as you worked to get there.

I'm still trying to get out to CO this year. WAY overdue.

work has me leaving this weekend to drive to the east coast (great timing!)

Start off heading to SC then up the coast to Rhode Island just in time to miss the deer opener here

yup...I need to retire

congrats Dan..I have been for a few yrs now and that 'do' list keeps growing by the day..makes me wonder how did I ever get anything done when working steady job..but then my job hrs were 4am to mostly 9 pm 5 days and a short one of about 10 hrs on saturdays..but it slowed down to normal 10 hr days in winter..did more hunting/fishing back then than now..enjoy..keep busy..again..congrats.

On Oct. 13th I celebrated 24 yrs. of retirement. To stay out of trouble I help out a custom gunsmith friend a couple days aweek. Nice thing is my time is pro bono so I can take off for hunting and travelling when I want, works well. Congradulations and enjoy the old Colt Commander, great pistol, I have an old LW one in 45 too.

Who are you trying to kid? For over a decade now I have been hearing that you are about to retire, or that you have retired. Should just change it to I am going to retire/quit this job and get a new job.

Don't know if I will ever be able to retire as long as I am able to physically and mentally work. Just seems like there would be too large a void in life.
