Share the harvest

O have to cool down a tad from the election thing so figured I would hit on something that bothers me, my family and quite a few others I have talked to so far. It is share the harvest. Ok, my opinion is next.
I agree people should be alowed to hunt. People should be alowed to hunt deer. What I do not agree with is #1, they kill deer, drop off at butcher shop and go out to kill more deer. #2. It cost them nothing. They don't even have to pay for processing. I know of a guy and know he is cheap cheap cheap and said he likes to kill deer but don't want to pay the cost and also does not eat them. One guy has killed 23 deer last year and donated it. I also have heard people say at the churches, food banks etc, where they are to get some of this 'share the harvest' Ewwww...they have tossed it in the garbage or fed it to the dogs because it is deer.
So on one hand, I like to see people out hunting then on the other hand, we as lots of others like to eat what we hunt and have to work extra hard to find the hunted. Property in my area is being posted like crazy. It makes me puke to see all the posted signs but it is being shot out so bad, when you own a place big enough to hunt, you have to keep out those kind that just wipe out your herd. I dont blame them. I am lucky enough to have enough woods to hunt in but am afraid to shoot anything because they are getting so scarce around here but if I don't put one in the freezor, they cross the road and are killed off...and......donated.... I think if they had to pay to process , they would slow down on wipe out the herd. That would be a start or maybe limit those that waste it to the numbers they can take....How do you feel about this?....Ok, my daughter hunts. I took her with a bow to where I knew a buck hangs out and yes we had fun watchin him chase a smaller buck and they were only 4 steps away from us at one time..but not a shot could be had due to them jumping, zig, zag with the big boy pokin the smaller one to runoff...guess who we run into?.. one of the famous 'share the harvest' boys that has already filled tags and said he is looking for a buck now... I asked what going to do with it?...share the harvest. I asked what going to do with the horns?... throw away because he don't want that stuff hanging around his house....so wouldn't you think he would at least leave one buck alone so a kid can have a chance at it maybe?...na....kill off all the deer.

skeeter,

You echo my feelings perfectly. Several deer killers hereabouts grab up DMAP Tags and Bonus Tags and shoot deer they donate to the Food Bank. I think PA has far TOO FEW deer due to PGC Excessive Antlerless Tags and our diminished deer herd should not be further exploited by deer killers.

I Hunt deer and I think it is fair for all to say, "One and Done."
