Ticks

I know ticks are everywhere and I need to know how everyone deals with this HUGE problem. My area has exploded with these critters and even with the sprays, bug suits etc, I still got bit with bullseye, antibiotics and all that. My wife same....can't even take dog for walk anymore without using the tick twister tool to remove one. I keep my pants closed with tape around ankle, spray down..I love the woods..love turkey hunting but have given up the woods due to ticks. I at one time must of been standing in an area where they just hatched their 80,000 eggs because I had to remove over and is only a modest guess...over 100 on me at one time...then there is the picking off your neck for days as they come from somewhere...any help? I figured the bug suit I use to use had one on it and when I took it off, rolled into tight ball to keep them from getting inside for the next time I used it must of had one get locked on the skin side...anyhow..is my question for the day.

When working around the farm, I spray my pants legs (knees down) and boots with a light mixture of malathion, about a quart bottle cap full to 1 gallon of water, then poured into a spray bottle. That mixture kills red bugs, ticks and fleas on contact. You can also use that mixture as a dog dip, even cutting it to a cap in two gallons seems to work OK on a dog.

Luckily..we have no ticks in our area..but what Ed said is good. When I lived in Md I also used malathion. but in a stronger mix than he does

We got here pretty bad in spots. I spray down pants with a mixture of prementhal. Last year I only got one on me which freaked me out. I hate bitty bug and snakes.
