Grizzlies
This ain't really about hunting bears.. But. We have had quite a few bear attacks lately. By lately I mean the last 4-6 years. A couple every year. Just had another one last week. Farmer was out irrigating his hay ground about 15-20 miles south of Cody. Bear attacked him and really tore the guy up. Literally tore off his face and bit him up on the arms and legs. The fellow is about 60--62 yrs old and got flown to Denver. I doubt if he will ever really recover. I don't blame the bear..it is just being a bear. But...before we got all the anti hunters and teddy bear and wolf huggers back east involved in protection and turning loose YNPark problem bears where people live..These things just didn't happen..at least not here. Somehow I think a grizz hunting season would put some fear back into the grizzly population. No I don't wanna kill 'em all..just enough to put some fear of humans back into them Heck if ya kill a grizz..They investigate to prove you didn't entice the bear into attacking..Uh..yeah..we all want to get mauled by a bear!!

Just like the wolf population in Mich they never get the real population of the bears because the huger just don't want it to happen.

I agree wrenchman. The gummity types and the huggers want to keep everyone in the dark so they can address their personal agendas. The bad thing is anecdotal evidence creeps out and the true story shortly thereafter does too. When all this happens they fight tooth and nail(LOL) to keep control. As it did here with wolves, truth trumps stupidity. We can shoot wolves here in Wyoming now..Where I am they are considered varmints. Where I hunt elk etc they are on a quota and ya have to have a license..It is called a trophy area. But the bear peoblem remains. This is not a joke..They capture problem grizz in the Park and move them to other areas..BUT only to areas they can drive a truck to. All be it at the end of those roads. and then they release them. Now here is the problem. Those same bears have lived and thrived NEAR A ROAD in the Park..Do they go back in the WILDERNESS area or travel back down the raod where they have learned there is easy pickings?? Bears are not stupid..Guess what happens??
