2013 Alberta Whitetail

Well after trying around home and not seeing anything at all, I headed out to Edmonton to go with a buddy. This morning my buddy took a small buck. While we watched that one drop a bigger one appeared. But at 400yrds and running there was not shot.

We came back to town and relaxed for the rest of the morning & evening. Headed out again checking different spots and not really seeing anything. At around 4-415 we saw this deer standing around 200yrds in a field. After looking at him with the binos he appeared to be a good one. Grabbed the 300WSM and the bog pod, however the bog was set too long. A nearby fence post worked as a rest. One shot and he went about 20yrds. Then the work began, the 2 of us struggled to get him loaded.

Scores 157 3/8” Gross..... 152 1/8” net. Much better than we thought of being in the low 140's
