Gun Show Weekend

Did the Wyoming Gun Collectors Show this last weekend... What a beautiful weekend..So nice I think it kept people out of the show..Pretty bad for sales. People were buying small stuff though. Reloading items especially. Gun sales were not great. My friend the ammo guy did really well. Sold about 6 grand in ammo. I did buy lots of little items. 12 sets of RCBS custom dies. odd caliber stuff that I always do well on. Bought a P-38..sold it.. Also acquired a nice Colt Match Target Woodsman..with 2 bbls 4 1/2 on the gun and an extra 6 inch..Don't know why as I have never really liked the darn things all that much..and I have a S&W 41 target with 3 bbls now. Well, someone will probably own it other than me in the future..but the Smith will stay. Also got the Remington R-1 Enhanced 45 auto.. New gun..looks decent..cept it has one of those plastic fiber optic front sights..will probably change that out.. Might work just fine..but chintzy lookin to me... And after following Rancid's posts on gun lubes etc..There was a guy there that did have some of that Frog lube..Just had to try it..

Check the enhanced R1 to make sure the width of the front sight base, front to back, is available on the market before you try to replace it without cutting the dovetail notch. The standard R1s front sight base on the one I bought for my build was not standard and required a .330 cut at 65 degrees to get right. I was told they bought a bunch of sights from Italy to put on the Remingtons. I recut the front and rear to a standard Novak cut.
