I'm in the same boat...all done, wrapped up. One more day of work then I'm taking off until the new year. Late flintlock season starts day after Christmas and we have a couple more tags on some DMAP property of the company's. That's always a fun time. Been killing pheasants every day...dog is way past 100 flushes now, this season, which is unheard of.

I'm sure I'll be taking that free time to get brass and bullets prepped for the 2016, 1000 yard VBR season, definitely do a little smoke pole hunting and there's always time to kill a few more birds.

Merry Christmas to all.. have a safe one

Merry Christmas to the Hunt Chat Family. I had a great PA rifle deer season. My rifle was a Mauser Mark X action mated to a medium .264 Winchester Magnum barrel. My favorite 140 grain spitzer handload was up the spout. I hunted everyday and saw deer everyday here on the farm. On December 12, the last day, I had 14 deer in the 20-acre hayfield 250 yards away. Most were does and two were 10-point bucks, but the light was bad at 1600 hours, so they still call this farm home.

I buy an antlerless tag annually just in case I see a wounded doe that needs to be mercifully put down. I saw no wounded poorly hit does this year. Just an hour ago, I drove my Polaris Ranger with Lori dog to the hayfield and saw 10 deer in the hayfield. Two were the 10-point bucks and the other 8 were does. I will hunt with the .54 flintlock Hawken on December 26.

Be well.

Adam
