Haven't been on in a while.
Been gone back east dealing with docs and hospitals and nurses and all kinds of stuff. After getting squared away with good news for a change I have done a bit of buying yard saling and auction things in the last month or 2. So went to a garage sale here this evening. I'm not too much on traditional muzzleloading but I just couldn't turn this one down. I bought a S&W Model 48 which is like a K-22 in 22 mag. 6 inch but when I was making the deal it had to include me buying a Thompson Center Hawken 50 cal Flintlock gun. Got the T-C with 2 lbs of Black FFg 200 490 Round balls patches cleaning stuff range rod and the original box. I got them both for 650 bucks. So I know I done good. I might even shoot that Flinter(but not much). When I was back east I went to an auction on the Eastern Shore of Va..and while I bought just one gun(Rem 788 6mm) I kinda cleaned up on reloading stuff. Like 8 lbs of IMR powder for 50 bucks 15000 CCI mostly pistol primers for a 100 bucks. Got 2000 Sper and Sierra 357 and 44 bullets for 5 bucks a box. One of the better buys was a Remington 513T stock with all military cartouches for 5 dollars. Lots of other stuff too. After getting home I found a pair of 41 mag handguns one NM BlackHawk 4 5/8 inch and a gun I have been searching for..a 4 inch Model 57 S&W. I've bought other stuff but mostly just trading stock. I did go into a local gun shop to drop off some powder the gal that owns it needed and lo and behold she had a pretty little 1892 Winchester that had been re-barreled to 44 mag. To me not a good 44 mag but it shoots hotter end 44 specials and fairly hot loads for 44-40 in 44 mag cases. Heck the price was right and it was an early gun from 1894. You know I had to have it. Other guns lately but mostly trading stuff. Now I have to stay away from Hospitals. Getting old sucks

I've noticed that.....when I try to look up friends on line, most of what I see are obituaries!

skeet,
Last March at the Morris. PA annual gun show I saw three tables full of PARTIAL bottles/cans of gun powder WITHOUT the factory seal in place. There was an after-market printed disclaimer/label saying "this container has IMR whatever." I asked the vendor, "How do you know the powder in any partial can is the same powder as on the label?" He said, "He carefully checks." Ok, so check all you want, BUT I never buy any powder that is not factory sealed! All partial cans given to me get spread on my gardens as fertilizer. Adam

Thanks GOB. I've been pretty much off line except for a few posts on ebay.
The auction went good. Bought 3 guns 2 or 3 loading presses 5 8 lb containers of powder and 4 1 ponders... all sealed and 5 partial cans. 1 is green dot one is red dot and one 700x so I'm good with them. One can is Win 760 which is pretty distinctive the last was some 4350..not 'nuff to worry about so it will get destroyed. I also bought a FN magnum action with a Timney trigger and a whole Colt 1911 top end in the lot for 95 bucks. The series 70 slide is worth what I paid for the whole lot. Also got lots of little stuff. One of the guns I bought was a CZ in 204 Ruger And I got 4 boxes of Hornady ammo a set of 204 dies 100 204 new cases and an unopened pound of CFE 223 for 30 bucks. Every now and then the blind skwerl does find an acorn
