Here on my farm, I will be using my old M700 .30-06 and 4X Leupold. I have many resident deer, so I ONLY shoot badly crippled deer.

Don't have a handy pic of it... it's in the camera though... but I bought a fairly rare Winchester M-64 in 32Win Spec. Fairly rare just because it has a bolt peep sight like a Win 71 348. I have some 173 gr cast bullets loaded with 11.5gr of Unique... for deer of course. I now have it ready to go if the Wolfiecomes around again. Hunting the black timber for elk with one or the other lever guns..Either the Win 71 348 or a Marlin 1895 CB 45-70. If not in the timber I have Kimber Classic Select 300Win Mag. I would rather use the lever guns

Sorry to hear about losing your Dad wrenchman.
I'm in shotgun zone . . . so hunting with Remy 870. Have to admit, it shoots like a rifle, especially for the Michigan woods where distances are a short range affair. . . . But, would prefer to use my Heym 26b double, over/under 8x57. Here's a pic of it from when I picked it up from the Heym Factory in Germany. Has quick detach mounts for using either a Docter Red Dot or a Scope |

Yes, I sure do miss the hunting in Europe, but have no regrets on returning back to Michigan. I did shoot several Red Deer Stags, as well as Sika and Fallow Bucks. Had a great time and been there done that when it comes to Europe. I had the German Jagdschein (Hunting License) over 25 years.
Were you able to get out and hunt the Michigan opener? |

Good luck to y'all
I managed to tag a 7 point with the crossbow on 10/2.
Spent all last week in Denver so I missed the opener. Hope get back "up north" next week to fill a couple more tags during rifle, then likely late bow too. BE SAFE
