Thanks for the reply. I too shorten up words at work to reduce the amount of space and writing I have to do on reports. Such as s/b= should be, c/t= common to, e/m= edge margin etc etc. MC

OK I already PMed one member in this thread but since we are on the subject and there are a few owners of the SKS here. can anyone tell me where to get some 20 or 30 round detach or fix for that matter magazines that feed reliably to replace my 10 round fixed mag that came on the gun?

Just some first hand info on fixed and detachable mags. Most, actually, all shooters that I know who have tried/ used these kind of mags go back to the 10 rounder. The biggest complaint is that they extend to far below the rifle and make shooting from a bench or pron position difficult as the mag is making contact with the ground or bench. The detachable mags do not feed properly and do not insert or can be removed easily without some fiddeling around to get the mag in or out. The 10 round mag can be loaded quite quickly with stripper clips. MC |

I'm going to kind of go along with MC here.
For add'l mag capacity, you're best off getting one of the--now scarce--Chicom issue integral 20 round jobs. The scarcest ones IME, of that sort are those NOT having the Commie Star. Doesn't stick THAT far out of the stock, and though it looks sorta weird, I've never had a problem with mine feeding; takes 2 stripper clips to load/top off and you're good to go!
