Hip shooting et al

I've done a bit of hip shooting. Surprising how many ya can break. Best I ever did was a 23. Saw a guy break 24 once from the hip. He practised shooting that way for months. Free shells etc and need I mention he was a VERY accomplished shooter. One of the best American Live Pigeon shooters I ever saw. He even placed pretty well at the World Pigeon Shoot in Mexico. I went down thee thinking I was some shakes with a shotgun. I was shakey all right. Shooting pigeons isn't like ANY kind of clay target game. MUCH more difficult by degrees. Fellow told me he had broken quite a few 25 straights from the hip..in fact he said his best was 41 straight. Not only is the guy a good shot...he's a nice guy...Like Fabs!

How did I get thrown in there? LOL Are you implying that I am a nice guy, that I am a good shot, or both? LOL

By the way guys, the same can be said for Skeet too. He is both a great shot and a great guy. The first time I met him in person was when he graciously gave me somewhere around 5,000 hulls for free.

I shot clays with him a couple of times, but only once semi-seriously at sporting clays where we were actually keeping score. He beat me by one or two birds, but I also dropped one or two at a station because I followed his sage advice to try and shoot the birds quicker. One thing is for sure, he is much faster than me on getting on target. He breaks most of his birds before I can even mount the gun. In a goose blind, I would be shooting cleanup if I was hunting with him.

Glad to hear that some of us are shooting and hunting. Me, I am just working and getting sick. Might get out for some goose hunting this Friday or Saturday, but only time will tell.
